Festal Irish Festival – March 14-15

Seattle Center Festál: Irish Festival presents a snapshot of Irish culture, 12 p.m.-6 p.m., March 14 – 15, in Seattle Center Armory. Shop for authentic Irish products, create Celtic arts and crafts and take in colorful cultural exhibits, live music and dance, and contemporary Irish short films.

Non-stop Irish music, singing, and performances by champion Irish step dancers from around the Pacific Northwest keep the energy flowing at Irish Festival. Other highlights include genealogy and Irish language workshops, engaging history lectures, an Irish art exhibition, and screenings of contemporary Irish short films.

This family-friendly event features a fun-filled Children’s Activities Center. Young guests can complete entertaining art projects or enter the “Smilingest Irish Eyes” and “Most Irish-Looking Face” contests.

Visitors can browse booths selling unique Irish and Celtic products and refresh with delicious Irish food and libations. On Sunday afternoon, a drawing will be held for free round-trip tickets to Ireland.

In 2015, Seattle Center Festál explores the “art of culture” in 23 celebrations on weekends throughout the year. The events, organized by ethnic/cultural organizations in partnership with Seattle Center, make use of indoor and outdoor spaces on the grounds and offer wide-ranging entertainment, food, visual displays and exhibits and hands-on learning opportunities. The annual series forms the bedrock of public programming at Seattle Center, captivating and enlightening festival-goers as they experience the distinct cultures that influence the character and course of our broader community.

Seattle Center Festál is a program of Seattle Center Productions. Admission is free-of-charge. For more information on Irish Festival and other Seattle Center public programming, click on Seattle Center or call 206 684-7200.
