Seattle Center Whirligig transforms Center House into an indoor funfest, filled with eye-popping decor, super-sized inflatable rides, roaming clowns, arts and crafts and face painters, March 26 – April 11, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Whirligig, returning to Seattle Center for its 28th year, welcomes spring and celebrates the opportunity for children to bounce, slide and glide with abandon. The event is especially suited for kids12 and under. There is also a special Toddler Zone on the Center House balcony level with three rides that are appropriate for children ages 3 and under (max height 40 inches).
Student Showcases are scheduled throughout Whirligig to give public and private schools and youth performance groups the opportunity to share their artistic accomplishments with family, friends and the public. New this year, free art-making is offered by Creative Activities/VSA Washington in the Artists Studio next to the Center House Stage, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily.
Fees include $1.50 for single tickets, $7.50 for an all-day main floor pass and $4.50 for an all-day toddler day pass. Children 12 and under may ride for free in Center House on Thursdays. Face painters and balloon artists also charge a nominal fee. For more information on Whirligig and other Seattle Center programming, visit http://www.seattlecenter.com/ or call 206 684.7200.
