Seattle Center 2021-220 Season Primer

Pacific Northwest Ballet opened its 2021-22 season this weekend with Singularly Cerrudo. The production is presented in-person at Oliver Marion McCaw Hall and available to stream online. Seattle Opera opens its season in October with a live McCaw Hall performance of the beloved La Bohème.

Given various approaches to the 2021-2022 season among organizations at Seattle Center, we’d like to offer a Seattle Center 2021-22 season primer, so you’ll know how to navigate our new horizon.

Book-It Repertory Theatre will make a gradual transition from virtual to in-person, returning to the Center Theatre in January 2022 for three in-person shows: Beowulf, Mrs. Caliban, and The Bonesetter’s Daughter. Before then, you can purchase audio dramas of Zen and the Art of an Android Beatdown and The Three Muskateers. Check here for details. Seattle Children’s Theatre will be back in Eve Alford Theatre in February with Red Riding Hood, followed by The Best Summer Ever! in March and April. SCT will also have digital versions of these productions that you can stream from home.

Seattle Rep makes its return to live performance in December with their Public Works family of community and professional actors in an adaption of William Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale. 2022 follows with some outstanding live theater. Check it out at here.  SIFF returns to live film presentation Sept. 30 with DocFest offering all things documentary through Oct. 7. The films are also available online – and SIFF continues to offer an outstanding streaming line-up of foreign and independent films.

Be sure and check with these organizations about their health measures such as masking and proof of vaccination (required in all our event venues starting on Oct. 25) and learn more about virtual and in-person activities at Seattle Center on our website
