Jewish Sports Exhibit on Display in Armory

A new exhibit, Distant Replay:  Washington’s Jewish Sports Heroes, exploring the place and importance of Jewish culture in the history of sports in Washington State, is on display through Memorial Day weekend, 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. daily, on the Mezzanine Level of Seattle Center Armory.

Sports are an important part of the Jewish culture, and this collection of stories, photographs and sports memorabilia showcases the notable sports achievements of individuals from the state’s Jewish community.

The Washington State Jewish Historical Society (WSJHS) researched and collected hundreds of captivating stories that vividly illuminate how sports are about effort, team work, preparation and toughness. So for the first time ever, little known stories of a culture’s local sports impacts have come alive.

Seattle Center is pleased to partner with the Washington State Jewish History Society to present the exhibit, which remains on display through Northwest Folklife Festival. For more information on the exhibit, visit www.wsjhs.org; and for information on other Seattle Center public programs, click on www.seattlecenter.com or call 206 684-7200.
