Join us as we uncover the rich cultural diversity of food in the Pacific Northwest with Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) and Seattle Center Festál at Edible City Family Day, 10am–5pm, Saturday, Feb. 18, at MOHAI.
Cultural partners from across the Puget Sound region will come together to present this all-ages event. The packed day includes many elements for which the Festál series is known, including a dance workshop series in collaboration with Northwest Folklife:
- Festál Turns 20 documentary, 10am–1:30pm and 2:45pm–5pm.
- Ragdoll making with renown doll artist Marita Dingus and other hands-on activities, 10am–5pm.
- Spirit of Africa presents African Dance with Gansango, 11:30am–12:30pm.
- Cooking demonstrations and eating including hands-on Pierogi making with Seattle Polish Festival, 12:15pm–1:15pm and Festál cookbook beverage highlights with chef Kristi Brown, 3:15pm–4:15pm.
- Panel discussion, Food and Culture, the food connection, 1:45pm–2:45pm.
- Festival of Lights presents Bollywood Dance with Katrina Ji, 1pm-1:45pm.
- Pagdiriwang presents Filipinas Performing Arts of Washington State, 3pm–3:45pm.
Edible City Family Day augments the 20th anniversary year of Seattle Center Festál, a series of 24 ethnic cultural festivals held throughout the year at Seattle Center. The free weekend events offer visitors opportunities to experience the distinct cultures that shape the character and course of our broader community.
